Dave Gardner

David started playing tennis locally at Wilde Lake High School his junior year, where he became an integral part of the undefeated county championship team. After one year of playing David made it to the county singles finals and advanced to the district singles tournament.

David went on to UMBC where he played #1 singles and #1 doubles for the Retrievers. He earned two team MVP honors and finished his senior year with a record breaking 20-5 mark at the #1 singles position.

Post-college, he then went on to play tournaments in the mid Atlantic, Florida and Mexico. David won the Baltimore Open (2X), Baltimore Classic, Greater Baltimore Open, Ocean City Open, and Columbia Open among others.

David moved to the West coast in 1996 with an end of year ranking of 8 in the Mid-Atlantic section for all males. He then refined his teaching technique and philosophy while teaching under the tutelage of Ed Collins at the University of San Diego.
